For this conversion the model is within reach: about 1,750 new rows on each side, 4 passes of about 10 seconds in total, after a one-time download you have to agree to. A white border is what the page starts on, and it needs no download at all.
Measured on a 6000 x 4000 landscape: a 6,000 x 7,500 canvas, 1,750 new rows a side. Open your own photograph and the rail recomputes all of it against that file. It continues a wall, a sky, a lawn, gravel, water or a soft out-of-focus background, because those carry on past the frame in a way that is predictable from the edge itself. Every limit, in one table.
1080 × 1350 with white edges to start, the whole photo inside, and the profile grid's 3:4 crop drawn on top so nothing surprises you after you post.
Opens at 1080 × 1350 with a white border and the 3:4 grid preview on. The chips switch to 1:1, 3:4 or 9:16.
What this does to your photo
Exact size is the one mode on this site that resamples the photo: it is scaled down to fit inside 1080 pixels of width, whole, and the panel prints the percentage. Nothing is cut. The space left above and below (or at the sides) is filled — white by default, because a clean border is what reads as intentional in a feed.

The awkward questions
How do I post a whole photo on Instagram without it being cropped?
Put it inside a canvas of the size Instagram uses and fill the rest. This page opens on 1080 × 1350 (the 4:5 portrait post) with white edges; your photo is fitted inside whole, and the leftover space becomes a border. Choose 1:1, 3:4 or 9:16 from the chips if you need another shape.
Which size should I use for a feed post?
1080 × 1350 (4:5) takes the most room in the feed. Since early 2025 the profile grid shows posts as 3:4 tiles, so a 4:5 post loses a little at the sides there — the dashed box on the board shows exactly what the grid will show. If the grid matters more, use the 1080 × 1440 chip.
White border, blur or mirror?
White reads as deliberate and suits product shots and anything going into a grid. Blurred cover is the familiar repost look and is safest on busy pictures. Mirror is invisible on foliage, water and sand but doubles anything recognisable at the edge.
Are these sizes official?
The 4:5 and 3:4 figures come from a dated source (Hopper HQ, March 2025), linked beside the chips. The square and story sizes are carried from our own size list and labelled as not yet re-verified. Instagram can change its display at any time.
Is my photo uploaded?
No. It is fitted, filled and saved by this tab; nothing is sent anywhere.
